Yes, there is another one, and she was a novelist of taut power, capable of delineating the finest emotion and of drawing things to satisfyingly ambiguous, powerful conclusions. I have had the pleasure of reviewing her novel, The Soul of Kindness, about a beautiful, supposedly generous woman who in fact (without knowing it) causes more damage than anybody else.
